Bloom Where You Are BARNED”

The barn woke up pink.

Not “sunrise glow” pink. Not “maybe I’m blushing” pink.

Full. Blown. Bubblegum.

“Absolutely not,” the barn said. “I was red. I had dignity.”

The giant flowers cackled.

“We redecorated.”

“You WHAT.”

Everything was enormous. Cheerful. Suspiciously whimsical. The path even did a dramatic little swoop like it had something to prove.

“I hate this,” the barn muttered.

But then, then petals caught the light. Little painted dots danced in the sky. The whole place shimmered like it had decided seriousness was optional.

Somewhere, someone would definitely smile at this nonsense.

The barn sighed.

“I look ridiculous.”

“You look delightful,” said a daisy way too big for its own good.

Pause.

“Do I at least look like the main character?”

“Obviously.”

The barn straightened up.

“Well then. If I must be barned… I will be spectacularly barned.”

And the pink barn, once deeply committed to seriousness, stood right in the middle of all the nonsense…blooming like it meant to
